How We Score
The BlackHart Risk Index is a single number (300-1000) that quantifies risk on one universal scale — how resistant a DeFi protocol is to adversarial exploitation, and how exposed the average trader is in a prediction market. One formula, one Forge Scale, two models. Higher is safer.
Open Methodology
11 of 12 dimensions are fully open and independently verifiable.
The adversarial assessment methodology is not published. Publishing offensive tooling would arm the attackers we exist to stop. D7 scores are evidence-backed and on-chain committed. Why this matters
The Formula
Full breakdownScore = 300 + 700 × Π(Dᵢ / 100)^wᵢ
A weighted geometric mean — one catastrophic dimension cannot be hidden by high scores elsewhere
Each dimension is scored 0-100 (higher = safer) and combined as a weighted geometric mean, then mapped onto the 300-1000 scale. Because the terms multiply rather than average, a single failing dimension drags the whole score down. The same composite formula and the same Forge Scale score both protocols (12 dimensions) and prediction markets (6 dimensions) — only the axes change.

BRI Formula
The multiplicative composite formula used for every score, why additive scoring hides risk, the computation pipeline, and weight governance.
Dimensions
Both scoring models, side by side: the 12-dimension protocol model and the 6-dimension prediction-market model, with what raises and lowers each axis.
Forge Scale
The 7-tier rating from RAW to ADAMANTINE, shared by protocols and markets. Worked example showing how dimension scores produce a final score.
Our Approach
Adversarial resilience, the Z-factor maturity coefficient, what makes this different from checklist auditing, and how to interpret a score.
Independence & Transparency
Scoring independence, conflict management, the full provenance chain from observable behavior to published score, and what's open vs. proprietary.
Protocol Scoring
The 12-dimension protocol model — access control, economics, oracles, governance, maturity and more — calibrated against 200+ historical DeFi exploits.
Prediction Markets
How the same Forge Scale and composite formula rate the integrity of an individual market: the six-dimension model, retail-readable risk signals, and how to read a market score.
What each score measures. Every dimension — protocol or market — measures a structural, observable property. A low score flags where to look harder.
Prediction Market Dimensions
Full detailsSix dimensions of market-integrity risk for the average trader: Information Fairness, Trade Integrity, Resolution Trust, Event Exposure, Question Clarity, and Venue Health.
Protocol Dimensions
Full detailsTwelve dimensions of protocol risk, calibrated against 200+ historical DeFi exploits. Eleven are fully open; D7 (Adversarial Resilience) uses proprietary methodology.
